Để hỗ trợ cho 2 dự án nói trên, Đại học UCI phân khoa Environmental Injustice sẽ phối hợp với hội JFFV tổ chức một cuộc hội thảo với đề tài tạm dịch : Sau Thảm Họa Formosa, Xây Dựng Lại Những Cộng Đồng Ven Biển ” (In The Wake of Formosa Plastics Rebuilding Coastal Communities), vào lúc 5pm-6:30pm ngày thứ Năm 3/3/2022.

Hôm 17 tháng 1 năm 2022, Liên minh Giám sát Formosa tổ chức một cuộc họp báo tại thủ đô Đài Bắc, Đài Loan.
Đây là một nhóm các tổ chức hoạt động nhằm hỗ trợ các nạn nhân của thảm họa môi trường do công ty Hưng Nghiệp Formosa Hà Tĩnh gây ra ở các tỉnh miền trung Việt Nam hồi năm 2016.
Trong cuộc họp báo, liên minh này kêu gọi Tòa Tối Cao Đài Loan xem xét lại việc yêu cầu bên nguyên đơn phải công chứng giấy ủy quyền cho luật sư tại Văn phòng Kinh tế và Văn hóa Đài Bắc ở Hà Nội, do lo ngại tình trạng vi phạm nhân quyền ở quốc gia độc đảng này.

Oai said his five-year sentence was in injustice.
“Look at the two charges. ‘Disobedience of court verdict,’ and ‘resisting officers on official duty.’ I realize they did a lot on my case, from creating false files, forging signatures, to try to prove I did all the things they accused me of,” he said.
Oai said that at the time of his arrest, police thought he had played a pivotal role in organizing the protests against Formosa.
